Well, let me introduce the term 'adulting.' The verb is used to note those instances we act like an adult; a short yet sustained stretch of maturity.
Example:
"What are you doing tonight. Want to dress up like a homeless person, cover ourselves in fake blood, and lie on the hood of someone's car? They'll think they must have killed us as they drove home drunk last night! It'll be awesome!"
"I can't. I'm adulting tonight. I have to do my taxes."
"Whatever man! I thought you knew what's important in life."
