French Flections 2

After sitting down for our first meal in France, we admitted to the waitress we were American. In France, "I'm American," is an apology, not a statement. Without another word she slipped away, and returned seconds later with a large sign. Scrawled on the sign was the menu...in English! It was very thoughtful, but at the same time a bit embarrassing. She sat the sign on a chair at our table, a cue to everyone around us, idiot Americans present.

So, what did I order in the culinary capitol of the world? French soup. God. I'm such a tourist.
