Opus One is for blowhards. The first thing they teach you when learning about wine is that it isn't the price but how you like the taste that matters. I once had a bottle of Dom Perignon and it was terrible. However when I did a cave tour and tasting at Schramsburg...they had the most delicious Sparkling Wine I had ever tasted at about half the price, the Blanc De Noir is amazing! High price usually equals long storing times when it comes to wine. Let's go tasting Paul..I show you the way.

That's three bottles of Opus One... or like 2 cases of Calera Pinot... so I'm down with it.
I've never had Opus One. Worth the price tag?
Not really. It has a lovely prestige value... but Silver Oak, which is the greatest in the world, is just as good and about $70-100 dollars cheaper...
