As the majority shareholder of my life I made the executive decision to reuse the black socks I wore yesterday. I only wore them for 4 hours yesterday, and the shelf life of one pair before laundering should be...what?...8 hours? As long as I wear them for 4 hours or less today, I don't think I've committed a fopaux. At least, not a smelly one.
