Months ago, I had this conversation:
Me: My! What a beautiful day!
Other: You son of a bitch! You should recycle or I'll blast you in the face with judgment!
The message was subtle; I read between the lines and began to recycle.
Until last night! I saw a homeless person digging through trash, looking for cans, and that's sad. Despite rumors, I have a heart and I hate seeing people suffer. It occurred to me, I should gift the bottles and cans I have to the homeless. I don't go after the $.05 per bottle, but they sure could use it.
If you have cans, may I suggest packaging them in bags and handing them over to someone who needs the assistance. It's a small gesture, but they'll appreciate it.
Above: my first Gift 'O Bottles. I'll probably see someone in the alley tonight and hand it over.
