Fringe is just X-Files with a grandpa.

Damn it, do you even watch this show? Why is it that just because a show deals with things that are strange and weird it has to be like X-Files. I was never that into X-Files and already within Fringe (if you have seen all the episode, in order) you are seeing that everything will be adding up to a showdown. In fact by the end of the first half of the season you see where this whole thing might be going. This show rocks...

PS
Don't say shit about me liking Heroes, I watch that as part of my shitty TV show viewing habits.

I like watching Heroes too, because I've never seen a show so confidently go off the rails. Hell, they've gone off the rails and sent that train crashing into homeless shelter, then an SPCA full of puppies and kittens.

As for Fringe, yes, I've seen it, and I give you this review: "good." For me it's crisp, well crafted, but there's no kick. There seems to be few conversations and a lot of declarations. It's like everyone gives monologues and then the editor splices it together to look like conversation. The best scene I've seen so far, which they came close to crushing under to much sentimentality, was Peter singing "Row, row, row your boat," to a traumatized Walter. That said a lot, and said it subtly, there was quiet revealing of character.

That's the problem, it's so often loud, and showy, and the characters seem like tools leapfrogging to each exhilarating moment.

It could also be when J.J. Abrams name is attached I get giddy and hope for another "Lost" quality show. Those are some lofty expectations though.
