Say what you mean? Novel Concept

So, would you like to know what I hate? Since you're reading my blogs I'll just go ahead and assume you do....want to know....what I hate, loath, detest and despise. I despise those who utter the phrase, "I'll call you later tonight," and then don't!

Admit it, you hate it too. It infuriates me. Why would someone say, "I'll call," without the intent to follow through? "Oh, but Paul," some of you challenge, "maybe they just became busy; no time to call you." Pff! That's my response! Pff and a talk to the hand gesture! That's crap. The person that's riled me up has a cell phone...which means he/she (ohhhh.... the mystery...do I hate a male or female?) has numerous moments in the evening to call and just say, "Hi...I'm not a bitch (or is it a bastard?).… just callin to say Hi. What's that? You want to get some dinner tonight? Oh...gosh.... I’d love to.... but I'm to busy tonight...maybe another time? Great! Well.... I need to get some stuff done around my house. So yes...let's talk later. Goodnight."

Did you clock yourself while reading that? I did. I even factored in imaginary responses from the imaginary person during the imaginary phone call.... and.…drum roll please...the conversation took a whopping 3 minutes...max! You're telling me.... a person during the evening can't spare 3 minutes of her time to talk with me?
Let's assume she leaves her work at 6, and plans on heading to bed at 10 (a conservative timescale...but let's go with it). Now, 4 hours divided by 3 minutes results in 80 chances to call. All 80 moments throughout the evening are booked? I have my doubts.

Is this to cold and calculating? Am I showing to little compassion? Yah, I didn’t think so either. I’m just using some simple calculations to encourage some common courtesy. If you think I’m talking about you…. pay attention. Are you focused on me? Good. I don’t have a ton of patience for stupidity (FYI: failing to calls is classified as stupidity). If you hope to salvage a friendship…you may want to call. And, if you can do without the friendship? Honestly? It’ll sting for a couple seconds. I think plenty of people out their would call me back…. and if not you…. well…. ok.
